My Grandmothers Saint Christopher

My Grandmother was born in Scotland, her family then moved to England for her father to find work, he opened a Wine & Spirits Store in a small town of “ Rawtenstall”England. What an awful name!

Rawtenstall is a town at the centre of the Rossendale Valley, in Lancashire, England. It is the seat for the Borough of Rossendale,, in which it is located. The town lies 17.4 miles north of Manchester, 22 miles east of Preston and 45 miles south east of the county town of Lancaster. Nearby towns include Bacup, Haslingden and Ramsbottom. (where do they come up with these names??) Any who…..
My Grandmother left home when she was about 19 yrs. old and took the ship across the Atlantic all the way to Halifax, and then to her destination  a“ Teaching Hospital in Ontario run by Nuns. She was a nurse in WW11.
I believe just before she left on her journey she was given a small token to help keep her safe, a small pure silver Saint Christopher’s ring that has blue and yellow enamelling .  It’ something I’ve never seen anywhere before, and I’ve searched high and low on the internet and have come up empty handed, so I can say this ring is one of a kind  and to be bold “rare?”.
Here is a picture of it…………….   St. ChristopheratWordpressIf anyone has seen one like this, please let me know!
