You Don’t Have To Travel Far To Immerse Your Wanderlust…
On Vancouver Island’s West Coast
If it wasn’t for “Wanderlust” many of this worlds beautiful places wouldn’t have been found!
Wanderlust ( and a seat sale) lead me on the Cargo Ship the M.V. Lady Rose one sunny Spring Day for the 9 hr. trip to Bamfield and back to Port Alberni. I’ll never forget the beauty!
Alberni Inlet is a long, narrow inlet in Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, that stretches from the Pacific Ocean at Barkley Sound (Ucluelet) about 40 kilometres (25 miles) inland terminating at Port Alberni. It was named by the Spanish explorer Francisco de Eliza after Pedro de Alberni, Captain of the First Free Company of Volunteers of Catalonia who was appointed in the Spanish fort in Nootka Sound from 1790 to 1792. The inlet includes traditional territories of the Ucluelet, Pacheedaht and Tseshaht peoples, who are part of the Nuu-chah-nulth. (thank you Wikipedia for this tidbit of info).

Truly one of my favorite places on the face of the earth. And you have captured it beautifully! I too would give up my left b–b to live in that house. Gave up my right one to go sailing 😉

How wonderful it must have been to see it in person. I would love to live on the water in one of those houses.

No kidding! it is so beautiful here, totally different from the other side of the Island. You can find the odd one pretty reasonably priced around..$100,000. The only thing is with the threat of a Tsunami around the corner….I’m safe on top of my hill 5.5 blocks from the water, I think I’ll stay here! lol… 🙂 Thanks for dropping by!
