W.P.Weekly Photo: “DANGER !” Super Moon

The “DANGER !” Of…

Heavy Rain & A Super Moon

Flood’s

2016-2017 The Somass River/Port Alberni Inlet Floods

The Full Moon at the time caused what is called a Super Tide, making the water rise. The Super Moon was not only a sight to behold, it also had a major impact on coastal cities. High tides brought water on shore, flooding communities along the coast, water overtook roads and homes causing major damage.

Thankfully, I live on a hill!

  1. Many of the towns in South Carolina had serious flooding issues like those in your photos. Of course, downtown Charleston floods if it sprinkles LOL. We had some water on the roads but nothing serious. But it was worth it because the super moon was so stunning! Excellent choice for the week!!
